Compulsory Continuing Medical Education (CME) on Medical Ethics

The Singapore Medical Council (SMC) in the November 2022 edition of the SMC Newsletter, informed doctors that before they can renew their Practising Certificate from 2026, they must acquire Mandatory Medical Ethics (MME) CME core points. This was following a recommendation by the MOH Workgroup to review the taking of Informed Consent and SMC Disciplinary Process.  Registered doctors are advised to start accumulating core points for MME CME from 1 January 2024.

A circular has been sent to all doctors on 11 May 2023.
