SMC’s Press Release on the Recommendations by the Review Committee (for Disciplinary Processes)

REPORT OF THE REVIEW COMMITTEE (FOR DISCIPLINARY PROCESSES) & THE SINGAPORE MEDICAL COUNCIL’S RESPONSE

  1. The Singapore Medical Council (SMC) had announced on 16 October 2012 that a Review Committee would be formed to recommend more efficient and better ways to manage the disciplinary process and to mitigate the increase in time and expenses for disciplinary proceedings.

  2. After the Review Committee had completed its work and submitted the report to the SMC in November 2013, the SMC had engaged in an internal review to consider the merits of each of the recommendations and, where possible and appropriate, took the necessary steps to implement them.
